Instructions

  • Prepare the tofu for consumption by preparing it. After you have completed draining the tofu, then place it in a separate spot and wrap it in paper towels or a clean kitchen towel. This will prevent it from becoming contaminated.
  • After the tofu has been wrapped, place a heavy object on top of it, such as a pan made of cast-iron or a few cans, and allow it to press for around fifteen to twenty minutes. The extra moisture that may be present in the tofu will be removed as a result of this process.
  • After the pressing process is complete, the tofu should be cut into cubes or rectangles, depending on the shape that you want it to take depending on the desired outcome.
  • For the purpose of coating the tofu, a shallow dish should be utilised, and the cornflour, flour, and salt should be mixed together so that they are thoroughly combined.
  • It is recommended that the cornflour mixture be used to coat each individual piece of tofu until it is completely covered. Before continuing, it is necessary to shake off any excess cornflour that may have been present.
It is recommended that you fried the tofu.
  • When heating an oil that is made from vegetables, it is advisable to do so in a wok or a deep skillet over medium-high heat. This will ensure that the oil is adequately heated.
  • It is important to add the chunks of tofu to the hot oil in a methodical manner, and if it is required, you should work in batches. This will prevent the pan from carrying an excessive amount of food.
  • Tofu should be fried for approximately four to five minutes on each side, or until it acquires a golden brown colour and a crisp texture on both sides.
  • This should be done until the tofu reaches the desired quality. Utilising either a slotted spoon or a spatula, transfer the fried tofu to a dish that has been prepared with paper towels. The removal of any oil that may have been left over from the process of frying will be possible as a result of this option.
  • The first thing that has to be done in order to make the sauce is to put the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sweet soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar, chopped garlic, grated ginger, and either water or vegetable broth into a small pot. All of the other components should also be added. Combining all of the ingredients is the first step in preparing the dish.
  • It is recommended that the sauce be brought to a simmer while the heat is maintained at a medium adjustment.
  • The cornstarch-water mixture should be added to the sauce once it has reached a simmer. The mixture should then be thoroughly stirred through to ensure that it is entirely incorporated all the way through.
  • It is recommended that you continue to simmer the sauce while stirring it regularly until it reaches the proper consistency, which should take roughly two to three minutes. This should enable you to get the desired consistency.
    To bring about
  • Place the fried tofu in an ordered fashion on a tray that is designed to be used for serving.
After the sauce has reached the right consistency, make sure that it is poured over the tofu and that each and every piece is completely covered.
  • Continue until the sauce has reached the desired consistency.
In the event that you wish to use them as a garnish, you can use green onions that have been sliced and sesame seeds.
  • When it is still hot, serve the Thai Fried Tofu, and whether you choose to serve it over steamed rice or noodles, serve it. Ensure that it is served at the level of temperature that is adequate.
