  • Make sure that the rice is ready to eat. It is recommended that the sushi rice be washed a number of times under cold running water until the water turns clear.
  • It is recommended to use either a rice cooker or a pot to combine water with rice that has been rinsed. Take care to cook the food in line with the directions that were provided by the manufacturer.
  • A small pot should be used to combine the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix all of these ingredients together. It is necessary to stir the sugar and salt together over a low heat until they are completely dissolved. Hold off until it has cooled off.
  • Following the completion of the cooking process, the rice should be transferred to a large bowl. In order to guarantee that every grain is equally coated, gradually incorporate the vinegar mixture into the rice while gently folding it in. Ensure that the rice is allowed to reach room temperature before proceeding.
  • While you are preparing the sausage filling, you should fry the sausage links in a skillet over medium heat until they are browned and cooked all the way through. This should be done while the filling is being prepared. You should remove them from the skillet and allow them to cool down for a short while beforehand.
  • After the sausages have been cut into bits that are ideal for nibbling, they should be placed back into the skillet it was cooked in.
  • While the sausage is heating in the skillet, add the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, grated ginger, minced garlic, and chopped green onions. Continue to cook until the sausage is crispy. In order to ensure that the flavours have melded together, continue heating the mixture for an additional two to three minutes while stirring it occasionally. Remove the pan from the heat and put it a safe distance away.
  • As you are putting together the rice balls, place a sheet of nori seaweed on a clean surface with the glossy side facing down. This will help you keep the rice balls cool.
  • Spread a portion of the sushi rice that has been allowed to cool in the middle of the nori sheet and spread it out evenly in the shape of a square. This will accomplish the desired effect. It is imperative that you retain a border all the way around the sheet’s sides.
  • A portion of the banger filling should be arranged in a decorative design on top of the rice.
Forming a square or rectangular form, wrap the edges of the nori sheet over the filling to completely enclose it. This will accomplish the desired effect. The result will be a shape that is either square or rectangle.
  • Perform the method once more using the nori sheets, rice and sausage filling that you have left over from the last operation.
Totally optional: In the event that you wish to enhance the flavour and texture of the rice ball sausages, you may choose to sprinkle some sesame seeds over them prior to serving them in this manner.
  • In order to serve the rice ball sausages, you may either split them in half diagonally or serve them in their whole form. The fact that they are tasty does not matter if you want to have them on their own, with a side of soy sauce, or with the dipping sauce of your choice.
